The Commonwealth Day Service of Celebration 2026 will bring together leaders, artists and performers from across the Commonwealth of Nations at Westminster Abbey, with members of the Royal Family and distinguished guests from around the world also in attendance. Taking place on Commonwealth Day, the service is one of the most significant moments in the Commonwealth calendar, celebrating the shared values, culture and creativity of its 56 member nations.


Delivered by the Royal Commonwealth Society, the 2026 Commonwealth Day Service of Celebration will take place on 9 March 2026 at Westminster Abbey. The Service will feature an exciting programme of music, collaborative dance and spoken word from artists representing communities across the Commonwealth.



2026 Performers


Geri Halliwell-Horner



Singer, bestselling author and global pop icon, Geri rose to fame as Ginger Spice in the Spice Girls. With more than 90 million records sold worldwide, she is also a committed philanthropist and ambassador for the Royal Commonwealth Society.



Oti Mabuse



Internationally celebrated dancer Oti Mabuse rose to fame on Strictly Come Dancing, where she made history as the only professional to win the show twice consecutively. The South African Latin dance champion now continues to inspire audiences as Head Judge on Dancing with the Stars Ireland and through her work in television, storytelling and writing.



The Commonwealth Symphony Orchestra



Award-winning composer Rekesh Chauhan BEM has brought together musicians form the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra to form the Commonwealth Symphony Orchestra. Their special commission for the Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust will also feature the multi-award-winning Town Hall Gospel Choir and spoken word from Femi Elufowoju jr OBE.



Sapnay Entertainments Ltd and The Royal Ballet School



In a vibrant cultural collaboration, Sapnay Entertainments Ltd joins forces with The Royal Ballet School. Choreographed by award-winning dancer Prabhleen Oberoi, the performance blends classical ballet with Bollywood influences and features dancers Raheem Payne, Shivee Singh, Annaya Siyani, Wendel Vieira Teles Dos Santos, Cian-You Lin and Elliott Martin.



Secretary General Shirley Botchwey



The Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Shirley Botchwey brings decades of diplomatic leadership and international experience to the Commonwealth Day stage. Shirley Botchwey is a former Ghanaian foreign minister, Member of Parliament and business leader who has played a key role in shaping regional diplomacy and international initiatives.



Super Grouse



Bringing together some of the most celebrated talents in contemporary folk music, Super Grouse blends traditional Scottish reeling dance with the energy of modern ‘trad’ music, proudly declaring that “Reeling is the Answer!”



Indigo Marshall and Tarju Le'Sano



Birmingham-born artists Indigo Marshall and Tarju Le’Sano blend soulful vocals and powerful lyricism. Indigo performed at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, while Tarju has appeared at major global festivals including Glastonbury Festival and South by Southwest.



Selina Tusitala Marsh



Poet, scholar and illustrator, Selina Tusitala Marsh is the inaugural Commonwealth Poet Laureate (2025–2027). Her powerful poetry celebrates Pacific voices, identity and empowerment.



Hon. Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molia



A trailblazing Samoan leader, Mulipola made history as Samoa’s first female Minister of Finance and has championed economic growth, education and opportunities for women across the country.



Melodians Steel Orchestra



Founded in South London in 1987 by Terry Noel, the Melodians Steel Orchestra has spent nearly four decades empowering young musicians and sharing the vibrant energy of steel pan music across the UK and beyond.
