OUR VISION AND MISSION
The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) is a network of individuals and organisations committed to improving the lives and prospects of Commonwealth citizens across the world. Through youth empowerment, education and high-level advocacy, the Society champions the importance of education, equality and inclusion, and the environment across the Commonwealth’s 56 member nations.
The RCS’s unique position within the Commonwealth family allows it to play a pivotal role in convening and connecting the Commonwealth’s political and diplomatic representatives, civil society, business, and youth leaders, on a wide range of issues as well as to deliver highlights of the Commonwealth calendar, such as the annual Commonwealth Day Celebration and the High Commissioners' Banquet.
Founded in 1868, the RCS is non-partisan, independent of governments and relies on public generosity to achieve its mission.
OUR VISION
We want to improve the lives and prospects of all Commonwealth citizens.
OUR MISSION
We will take a leading role in achieving a fairer world for Commonwealth citizens by connecting, convening and equipping people to advance the values of the Commonwealth.
OUR STRATEGIC PLAN 2025-2030
Our Strategic Plan 2025–2030 sets out how we will deepen our work across three interconnected pillars: equality, education and the environment, in pursuit of our vision to improve the lives and prospects of all Commonwealth citizens.
Over the next five years, we will:
-
Continue to act as a trusted convener, bringing together governments, businesses, civil society and young people to share knowledge and inspire action across the Commonwealth.
-
Develop and support young leaders from all 56 Commonwealth countries to help deliver our work and shape a better future for the communities they represent.
-
Advance progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through our programmes in education, equality and environmental sustainability.
Our three strategic pillars are:
-
Equality: championing inclusion, opportunity and female leadership across the Commonwealth
-
Education: equipping young people with the skills, voice and confidence to lead
-
Environment: supporting collective action to protect and restore our shared planet
