Commonwealth Banquet

The Commonwealth Banquet is a black tie gala dinner which brings together the Commonwealth family to celebrate Commonwealth Week and support the charitable work of the Royal Commonwealth Society.

Held annually in Commonwealth Week each March, this black tie dinner takes place in London with live entertainment from around the Commonwealth.

For 2024, the gala was held on the evening of Tuesday, 12 March, at the St James’ Court, a Taj Hotel. It was attended by a variety of guests, including High Commissioners and Commonwealth figures, with guests coming from as far as New Zealand.

Gyles Brandreth, broadcaster, author and RCS Ambassador, was compère for the evening providing some very amusing remarks. Guests enjoyed delicious food and drink from across the Commonwealth and were treated to a brilliant performance by renowned jazz singer S-J Heany.

The evening also featured a live auction hosted by BBC Bargain Hunt expert Thomas Forrester raising essential core funds for the Society.

Thank you to all our supporters who joined us and those who supported the evening.
